Palma | Calviá | Andratx | Estellencs | Banyalbufar | Valldemossa | Palma

On this route we pass through villages which are really typical of Majorca, finally reaching the well-known village of Valldemossa. It shows off its special charm with its steep, narrow streets. The 13th century church stands out although the main attraction is the Cartuja de Valldemosa and the memories that reside there in the form of the romantic winter visit there in 1838-39 by the couple made up of Chopin and George Sand. It was there that Chopin composed his Preludios Op. 28 and Sand wrote  A Winter in Majorca.

Other famous names that spent time at la Cartuja include Rubén DaríoJorge Luis BorgesJovellanosand Santiago Rusiñol to name but a few.

Even today famous painters still reside there.

A lovely excursion…
